PERSONALITY:

oak is a rather loving and sweet individual, like his mother, although he is much les guarded than her. he is very kind toward mares and his fellow foals. he always tries his best to help them. he would do anything to help someone or to protect someone that is weaker or smaller than him. he has a very soft spot in his heart for mares that have been through what his mother went through and foals that have been abandoned. he will attempt to protect those around him by using his powers to fool them into thinking he is tougher and older than he really is. his heart hasn't been hardened like his mother's has been. when he's around older stallions, he tries to prove that he is tough and he protects his mother to the best of his abilities. oak doesn't believe in these ,so called, 'gods' and 'godesses', just like his mother, although he knows that they do have abilities like he does. he will not obey them when they tell her to do something that he doens't want to do, even though it may cause concequences. he knows in his heart that his mother loves him even though he knows she doesn't believe he is anything more than genetically modified freaks of nature. he is rather independent and is thinking of joining a herd against his mother's wishes.

APPEARENCE:

oak is a rather unique young colt, as far as his markings go. oak's build is closer to that of the draft blood that ran through his father, although he is slightly more slim because of the arabian and mustang blood of her mother. his color is that of his father, a dapple grey color, but his markings were brought about by his mother's love for forest. along his rear, where a blanket would be located on an appaloosa horse, he has a marking that is like a collage of leaves. the pattern also has the texture of the leaves and is good for camoflauge when he is trying to hide from a predator. the color of these leaves changes with the season as well as his eyes. in the spring his eyes and the pattern are a fresh, bright green color. in the summer, his eyes and pattern are a slightly darker color of green. in autumn, these two are brown, red, orange, and yellow. in the winter, his eyes are a gorgeous ice blue and the markings turn brown with a slight hint of res-ish orange and they take on a tattered appearence. on his chest, a bit down his forelegs, and on his inner rear legs, he has a dark colored dapple grey pattern. he has heavy feathering on his legs in his adult form, but only minor amounts in his foal form. his body is mostly a light grey and his mane and tail are a cream/white color. as a foal, he is almost solid grey and his mane and tail are still a white/cream . in his foal form, he datands at 14.3 hands high and in his adult form, he stands at 17.1 hands high, taking after his father.

HISTORY:

"willow was born to a wild mother and father, within the herd of one of these, so called, 'gods'. these 'gods' were accepting of willow's birth, but not because they loved having more foals in their herd, just for the fact that they could use her to fufill their needs. willow was often sent to find whatever the king of the herd desired. from the tender young age of one year old, willow and the other fillies had begun to catch the eye of the king. he had it set into his mind that one of these young mares would be having his foal. the king wasn't satisfied with just one and, in his greedy nature, he decided he would have all the mares.

the king kicked out all the stallions and when one refused to leave, he killed them. all the mares had the king forced upon them. after the mares were out of the way, the king decided to go for the young fillies, even though they wouldn't survive the pregnancy and he knew that. the king got to many of the fillies, although the ones that were grazing with their mothers were told to run, run far away. willow and her best friend, lily, were two of these fillies. willow and lily ran as far as their little legs could take them, before collapsing from exaustion. the fillies found a safe place to rest until the morning.

when willow awoke in the morning she noticed that lily was gone. her beloved friend had left her to be eaten, or worse. willow began to travel with a band of wild mares that didn't have a stallion. she stayed with this band of mares for several years, until she was five years old. when willow was five and a half she met a, seemingly, nice stallion and joined his herd.

this stallion was another of these 'gods', but he didn't seem all that bad. she stayed in his herd, but had no intentions of breeding anytime soon. one day, while she was grazing in a field, the stallion came up behind her and forced himself upon her. this horrific scene played out and willow fled his herd. she wandered alone for a while before finding out that she was pregnant.

when willow gave birth to a son, she noticed that he was different, he was large like his father, and he had strange abilities and markings. she named her son oak, after the large and powerful tree. her son wasn't as strong as the tree he was named for, though. he was weak and he had many health problems. willow and oak wandered here and are determined not to perish or join another of these 'gods'."


yes, this is the history of oak and his mother, willow. he has come about in the most unfortunate of circumstances and is forced to live alone with his mother. oak is weak in health at the moment, but he is growing stronger by the day. oak wonders if he will ever meet his father and he thinks that he might want to join a herd, against his mother's wishes.
